The Empty Or Remodeled Nest

Musings of an Empty Nest Mom

The Phoenix and The Empress

For Many Year-it seem since her youth- Iliana has dreamed and thought about reaching out to other women in different capacities; as friends, as a mentor and and a listener.  The ideal would be in a forum where ideas and thoughts could flow.  The end result (hopefully)being that all that come and share or take, walk away feeling like they have spent time with friends, enlightened, inspired or maybe just entertained.  Eventually, there are going to be workshops on line, tips and informative articles.

In Iliana’s own words:  I have always loved the Myth of the Phoenix. The Phoenix is a bird in, Egyptian, Arabic, and Chinese Mythology.  It is associated with our capacity for vision.  It is a Mythical a of Death and Rebirth.  A symbol of immortality.

It is a symbol of virtue and grace, power and posterity

It is said that the Phoenix with its great beauty creates intense excitement and deathless inspiration it represents the union of ying and yang.  It also represents the Empress (how symbolic for me.)

The Phoenix is gentle creature, alighting so gently that all are left  undisturbed.

In Chinese Mythology it is said to represent the five Confucian virtues-loyalty,honesty,decorum and justice.

The Phoenix gives it self to the fiery inferno, allowing fiery flames to consume it to ashes.  It does not say,”Okay, I am not doing this”.  It takes the heat.  It goes through the process.  After and through that process it is reborn and rises majestically from the ashes.  It wings more brilliant and beautiful than ever, it countenance more radiant and intense, its soul has been forged in strength.   Upon this new birth the Phoenix is filled with renewed confidence ,conviction and power and it alights into its new existence.

I have identified with this legend and have found myself in the fiery inferno of the Phoenix.  It is a process, it takes acknowledgment, awareness and acceptance.  I believe that we can all experience this new “birth”.  That we can use our trials as our “pyres” and become better versions of our selves.

As women we can be queens dressed in fine robes of our choosing.  We can be Empresses if you will.

I have written about this before privately-sometimes sharing with friends.

The time has come for me to share it with all of you as I embark  on my Journey of the Phoenix.  It might be presumptuous but I felt like an Empress after surviving and by rebirth..and because the Phoenix is associated with the Empress-so it will be as the Empress that I take my journey of the Phoenix.
